Part 1 - NUTRITIONALLY IMPROVED DIETARY PROGRAM

The success of any program of nutritional therapy is often founded upon a sound daily diet. In the case of disease of deficiency conditions, this is especially important since the body must receive substantial quantities of high quality ‘building blocks such as protein to facilitate the vitamins and minerals in. their action. The principle underlying the following nutritional recommendations is the elimination of food items that contribute little or nothing to nutritional or physical status and placing emphasis upon those which are beneficial.

ITEMS TO ELIMINATE

Sugar: White and brown and products containing any refined sugar. Sugar substitutes (saccharin, cyclamate). Honey or molasses may be used sparingly.

Refined Flours: White, partially refined, bleached and any products such as pastry, cookies, cakes or breads containing flours of this type.

Refined Grains: Hot and cold breakfast cereals and cereal products unless prepared from unprocessed whole grain. Moderate use of Granola or. Roman Meal type products is acceptable. White rice and blanched or de-germed grains.

Pasta: Macaroni, noodles, spaghetti and related items.

Dried Fruits: All dried fruits including apricots raisins, dates, etc.

Other Fruits: Bananas, grapes, cherries, mangoes, avocado. All canned fruits with syrup added unless this is rinsed off with water.

Vegetables: Whole potatoes, corn, beans other, than green or wax, peas, brown rice need not be totally eliminated hut should be used sparingly.

Dessert: Virtually all except prepared dietetic varieties or home made types without added sugar such as fresh fruit cups.

Beverages: Alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, strong tea and coffee.

Miscellaneous: All snack foods, chips, candy products, Ice cream and related items. French fries and deep fried foods, especially when prepared in batter.

These categories need not be eliminated by persons following non-therapeutic dietary programs.

ITEMS TO INCREASE OR FEATURE

Dairy Products: Milk (2%. skimmed, raw, powder), buttermilk, yogurt (unflavored), cottage cheese, cheddar and other non-processed cheeses.

Grain Products: Wheat germ, bran, wholegrain cereals and bread, full fat soyflour, and other items prepared from whole oats, rye, barley, etc. Brown or converted rice.

Meat: All forms may be liberally consumed provided all visible fat Is removed prior to cooking. Organ meats, fowl, eggs are excellent. Ham, sausages, wieners and most canned meat should be avoided if possible.

Seafood: All types of fish excluding salmon, herring, and fish tanned in oil. Clams, oysters and other shellfish are excellent.

Nuts & Seeds: Nuts and seeds of all varieties may be consumed daily in moderate amounts provided they are unroasted, unsalted, and without added oil. Especially good are toasted soybeans, raw almonds; cashews, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

Vegetables: All vegetables except those under "Eliminate" should be used regularly and in abundance. Maximum benefit is obtained from fresh or frozen rather than canned varieties. Emphasis should be placed on leafy green vegetables and the regular use of salads. -

Fruit: All types except those under "Eliminate". Use regularly.

Beverages: All fruit end vegetable juices except grape, prune and those with added sugar. Weak tea, herbal teas, decaffeinated coffee, and the beverages listed under "Dairy products are acceptable.

Note: Food should be well chewed, eaten slowly and consumed In smaller amounts. Light between meal and before bed snacks are advisable. Avoid as much as possible any "lnstant" foods and products with chemical additives, colorings or personally allergenic compounds, Care should be exercised in the preparation of foods; fry only in polyunsaturated vegetable oils and minimize consumption of fried foods. Vegetables retain maximum benefit if quick steamed or prepared In a wok. Brewer’s yeast, wheat germ, lecithin, and bone meal are very useful supplements which may be liberally and Imaginatively Added to enhance the nutritive value of many foods. Medications should be taken only on the advice of a physician. Follow a program of regular exercise.

Part 2 - DIET FOR WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

  1. Take two Weight-Go capsules three times daily one-half hour before food. Weight-Go contains Garcinia cambogia Desr. A rich natural source of(-)-hydroxycitric acid.
  2. Follow "Nutritionally Improved Dietary Program" by Robert Kripps M.Sc. Nutritionist
  3. Take two "BEST" daily. A multiple Vitamin and Mineral tablet.
  4. Take one "FISHOL E.C." enteric-coated OMEGA-3 capsules three times daily. OMEGA-3 is an essential fatty acid, extremely low in our diet. (For more information on Omega-3 see Nutrition Alert publication by Stephen Kripps Ph.C. Pharmaceutical Chemist)
  5. Reduce overall fat intake. Eliminate all vegetable oils except Virgin Olive Oil.
  6. Flaxseed. Grind flaxseed in a blender, and place in the freezer part of your refrigerator. Not more than two weeks supply at a time to retain freshness. Take one tablespoon each morning.
  7. Follow a program of regular exercise and drink plenty of fluids.

  9. Take 5 AMINO-GRAM tablets between meals for snacks.(Meg-Amino powder may be used as well. This is an excellent source of free amino-acids)
